A dropped object study is conducted to identify the potential for a hazardous situation arising from an object being dropped from cranes or lifting facilities during project execution.
We conduct the study in compliance with company and/or international standards. The objective is to identify potential dropped objects, vulnerable targets, estimate drop frequency, and calculate both dropped load impact and swing impact energies, while assessing risk to personnel. This includes topside (on facility structure) and subsea (pipeline/equipment) drops.
Client input is needed: lift locations, detailed lift paths, subsea equipment layout, etc.
Final deliverables include risk reduction recommendations, frequency/probability calculations, drop cone modeling (for current effects), and energy estimations for both topside and subsea scenarios.
